Hertfordshire Visitor Information
Hertfordshire is in the Home Counties and as rich in history and culture as it is in stunning countryside.
Places to visit while here should include the Roman town of St Albans. Named after Britain's first martyr, Alban, the Cathedral was built on the actual execution site of the Saint. Also here are the Hypocaust, the Roman Theatre of Verulamium and the Kingsbury Watermill. Hatfield House is a popular attraction in the area dating back to the seventeenth century with its 4000 acres of land. Ashridge Park in the Chiltern Hills provides great walking and fantastic panaromic views from its Ivinghoe Beacon.
